Background Editting
Create your own scene, no artistry required!
Don't like the set of backgrounds you have? Want to merge a couple of zones together to create your own look and feel? This tutorial's for you. In only a few short, easy steps, you can make your own custom backgrounds based on whatever zones you want! The process is actually very easy. However, at times it can be time-consuming. With that, let's begin.
To start, pick the background (meaning what appears in the back of the zone in question - From this point forward, 'BG' will refer to what you are creating, and 'background' will refer to the background picked here) and foreground of the zones you want to use. Using Team STK #10 as an example, that BG uses Mystic Cave as its background and Lava Reef 1 as its foreground. At first, you'll want these open in separate windows or layers. You'll be able to fix things later on.
Next, eliminate (by either erasing or cut-and-not-paste) the parts of the background and foreground that you don't want included on your final BG. In the previous example, I removed everything above the rocks of Lava Reef, then everything that wasn't part of the background in the Mystic Cave one. I was lucky in this particular endeavor, as the foreground was larger than the background. If this is not the case, however (i.e. you were putting, say, the Mystic Cave foreground on the same Lava Reef background), you may have to copy/paste parts of the background to fix the difference. As long as you keep it uniform, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
Only one more step! Finally, all you have to do is copy the foreground onto the background (or merge the layers if you're using them). Voila, your BG is done! If you so choose, you can recolor them to your heart's content, and then they're ready to use!
