Comic Types
"Classified" Information
When constructing a comic, there are a few things you need to put into effect. One of the most important decisions you have to make is what kind of comic you will be making. On this page I'll describe some of the different comic styles you can use.
Newspaper/Strip Style (Examples: Team STK, Sonic's Basement)
This type of comic typically only has one or two rows of frames, with three or four frames per row. This is great for shorter comics like those you see in the newspaper. They're good for quick jokes and puns, but it's harder to heep a storyline going. These also tend to be longer, so users with smaller resolutions (i.e. 800x600) might have to scroll across to see the whole thing.
Comic Book/Webcomic Style (Examples: Sonic Wrecks, Sonic Trek, most other comics)
While usually thinner (two or three frames per row as opposed to three or four), this style has more leniance with length. It's better to focus an entire comic on a plotline, but you have to position the jokes (if any) very carefully.
Unique Style (Examples: Sonic Style)
Make up your own, unique style. This is probably the most difficult, because you have to think about the best way to convey your message while displaying it in a good way. Sonic Style does a good job at this, using a GBA-style display for each frame. Here, freedom is the comic artist's tool.
